Help and support

Answers to the questions people ask most, and how to reach a person when they don't help.

The quickest way to reach us is inside the app: tap the ? at the top of the screen to open “Help & feedback” and send a message. It goes to the person who builds EquiDiary, and the reply comes to your account email. You can also write to support@equidiary.com.

Your account

Is it the same account on my phone, tablet and computer?

Yes. The iPhone and iPad app, the Android app and the web app at app.equidiary.com are the same app with the same account: sign in anywhere and the same journal is there.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, choose “Forgot your password?” and enter your account email. The link we send works once, for 60 minutes, and setting a new password signs you out on every device. If nothing arrives, look in your spam folder; we send at most six account emails a day to one address.

Why do I need to confirm my email?

Horses are shared by email address, so a horse someone shared with you only appears once your address is confirmed. The link from the confirmation email is valid for two days; the banner at the top of the app has a “Resend email” button if it has expired.

How do I change my password, my language or my email?

Password and language are under “Account”: “Change password…” signs out your other devices, and the language you choose there follows you to every device and sets the language of our emails. The email address cannot be changed in the app yet: write to us from your current address and we will change it.

Subscription

What happens when the free trial ends?

Every new account starts with a three-month free trial, with no card asked for. After it, a subscription keeps the account fully usable. Without one the account becomes read-only: everything stays readable, and you can still download or delete it at any time.

How many horses can I keep?

The Personal plan covers up to five horses of your own; horses others share with you do not count. If you run a larger stable, write to us.

How do I cancel or change my subscription?

Where you bought it. A subscription bought in the iPhone or iPad app is managed in your Apple ID’s subscription settings, or from “Account” → “Subscription” → “Manage subscription” in the app, which opens the same page. Any other subscription is managed from “Account” → “Subscription” → “Manage subscription”. If you plan to delete your account, cancel the subscription first.

Sharing a horse

How do I let someone else see or log entries?

In “Setup” → “Horses”, use the share button on the horse and enter the person’s email. A viewer can only read; a contributor can also add entries. You can limit what they see to certain kinds of entry, and hide prices and the documents wallet. They see the horse once they sign up with that address and confirm it, and you can remove their access at any time. More in the guide to sharing a horse.

Can I show a horse’s record to someone without an account?

Yes, with “Share by link”: a read-only page, with an expiry date if you want one, that never shows prices. The link is shown once, when you create it.

Reminders, offline use and files

How do care reminders work?

Under “Account”, turn on “Email me when care comes due”. You then get one email in the morning listing what is overdue or due in the next seven days, and nothing on days when nothing is due. Turn it off in the same place. EquiDiary does not send push notifications.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. The journal opens and reads offline, and entries you log, edit or delete without a connection are sent when you are back online.

Are there limits on photos, videos and documents?

Photos can be up to 5 MB and are reduced on your device before upload; PDF documents up to 10 MB. A video clip can run up to three minutes, and the videos on the horses you own share a 100-minute allowance. If you need more, use “Account” → “Videos” → “Ask for more space”.

Your data

How do I get a copy of everything?

“Account” → “Download my data” gives you one ZIP file with your full record and its photos, documents and videos, for use anywhere else. It works even when the account is read-only.

How do I delete my account?

“Account” → “Delete my account…”. Your horses, entries, photos, videos and documents are removed at once, and leave our backups within 30 days. The privacy notice lists exactly what is removed and the little that stays. You can also email us from your account address and we will do it for you.
